Stuck? We'll help.
This page is for anyone using a Nordbox app on iPhone, iPad or Mac. Write to us and a real person answers — usually the same person who built the app.
We answer within 24 hours, every day of the week.
What to tell us
The form below asks for all of this. The more of it you fill in, the faster we can fix it.
- Which app — the name as it appears on your home screen.
- Which device — for example iPhone 15, or a MacBook Air.
- Which version of the app — on a Mac, click the app's name in the menu bar and choose About. On iPhone and iPad, it is on the app's About or Help screen.
- What you did, and what happened — one or two lines is fine.
- A screenshot or a short screen recording — send those on WhatsApp, the form cannot take files.
Common questions
The app crashes or won't open
Try this first, in order. One of them fixes it almost every time.
1. Close the app fully and open it again. 2. Restart the device. 3. Check the App Store for an update to the app. 4. Check that iOS, iPadOS or macOS is up to date.
Some of our apps need a recent version of iOS, iPadOS or macOS. The app's App Store page shows which one, under Compatibility.
If it still crashes, send us a bug report below with the app, your device and the version, and we will look at it the same day.
I paid but the app says I didn't
Open the app and choose Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you paid with — this is the most common reason.
Where an app runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac, one purchase can unlock it on all of them. Sign in with the same Apple Account on each device, then choose Restore Purchase there too.
If it still does not appear, send us the receipt Apple emailed you and we will sort it out.
I can use the app, but I can't save or export
Some of our apps let you try every tool for free, and ask for a payment to save or export the finished result — either once, or as a subscription. The app shows the price first, and nothing is charged until you confirm it with Apple.
If you already paid, see the answer above about restoring a purchase.
How do I cancel a subscription?
On iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On a Mac: open System Settings, click your name, then Media & Purchases, then Subscriptions.
Cancelling goes through Apple, not through us. A subscription renews on its own unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and the app keeps working until that period ends.
If you started with a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription when the trial ends, unless you cancel before that. Cancelling during the trial keeps it free.
A one-time purchase is not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel, and it does not renew.
I want a refund
Apple takes all payments for App Store apps, so Apple handles refunds too — we cannot issue one ourselves, even when we want to.
Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, using the Apple Account you bought with.
If the reason was something broken in our app, tell us as well. We would rather fix it than let it happen to someone else.
Why do I have to sign in with Apple?
Most of our apps have no sign-in at all. Where one asks, it uses Sign in with Apple — the button on the first screen. There is no password to make and no account on our side.
Apple confirms it is you and passes the app your name. Both stay on your device. We never receive either, and we cannot see anything you keep in the app.
If the app keeps your work in your own iCloud, signing in on another device with the same Apple Account is what brings it all back.
Why does the app ask for my photos or my location?
Photos: to open the pictures you choose, or to save the finished result into your library. On iPhone and iPad you can allow only the photos you pick. Some apps only ask to add to your library, which lets them save without seeing anything else in it.
Location: only to help with places and weather — showing the weather where you are, putting nearby places first when you search for one, or adding where you are, or the weather there, to a picture. You can always say no and choose or type a place instead.
Microphone and camera: only while you are recording a voice note or taking a photo inside the app.
Notifications: only for a reminder you asked for. There are no marketing messages, ever.
Saying no never breaks the rest of the app. You can change your answer any time in Settings, or System Settings on a Mac, under Privacy & Security.
Does the app need the internet?
Most of our apps don't, for their main work. They do their editing, cleaning and converting on your device — including the parts that use artificial intelligence — so they keep working when your connection doesn't. A weather app is the exception: it needs a connection to fetch the forecast, though it keeps the latest one so it still opens with a weak signal.
A few things do need a connection: buying or restoring a purchase, and syncing to your own iCloud, both of which go through Apple; searching for a place on the map; and looking up the weather if you add it to a picture.
Where are my photos and files kept?
On your device — and, where an app syncs between your devices, in your own iCloud, which only you can open. Our apps do not upload what you open to us, or to anyone else.
When you save or export, the result goes where you choose: your photo library, a folder, or another app. Your originals are left as they were.
The full answer is in the privacy policy, which covers every app we make.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes what it kept on your device. Anything you saved or exported — to your photo library or a folder — stays where you put it, and you can delete it there.
If the app kept your work in your iCloud, that stays in your iCloud after you delete the app — so it is still there if you install it again. To remove it for good: on iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage, and choose the app. On a Mac, open System Settings, click your name, then iCloud, then Manage.
If you ever sent us information directly — through the form below or on WhatsApp — write to us and we will delete it and tell you when it is done.
I have an idea for the app
Please send it — choose Ask for a feature in the form below. Small studios can actually act on ideas, and a good number of the features in our apps came from someone writing in.
I want an app like this for my own business
That is what we do. Start on the apps page and tell us the idea — we will come back with a price for building it and the yearly fee to keep it running.
Still stuck?
Write to us here. It reaches the same inbox as everything else — nothing gets lost in a ticket system, because we do not have one.
Tell us what happened
We answer within 24 hours. If it is urgent, WhatsApp is faster.
We have it.
Someone will write back within 24 hours — usually much sooner.
