Who owns what, in plain words.
This notice covers every app Nordbox builds and publishes for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch — the app itself, its name, its icon, and everything inside it.
Last updated 1 September 2026 · © 2026 Nordbox, Beirut, Lebanon. All rights reserved.
The short version. Nordbox owns the app. When you buy it, you get the right to use it on your own Apple devices, for as long as you like. What you make with the app — your notes, your photos, your files — is yours, and we claim no part of it.
What we own
Every Nordbox app is our work, and it is protected by copyright. That covers:
- The app and the code behind it.
- Its design — the screens, the layout, the icons, the animations.
- Its name, its app icon, and the Nordbox name and star mark.
- The pictures, sounds, text and sample content we put inside it.
- The screenshots and words on its App Store page, and on this website.
Buying the app does not transfer any of this to you. Nordbox keeps every right that is not written out below.
What you get when you buy
You get a personal licence to use the app: install it and use it on the Apple devices linked to your Apple Account, under Apple's own rules for the App Store.
The licence is yours, it is not exclusive, and it cannot be passed on to someone else. It lasts for as long as you keep the app, unless you break the terms below.
What is yours
Everything you create with the app belongs to you. Your text, your photos, your recordings, your files, your data. We do not own it, we do not licence it from you, and — as the privacy policy explains — we usually cannot even see it.
If the app makes something for you to publish or sell, you may publish it and sell it. You do not owe us anything for it, and you do not need to credit us.
What you may not do
- Copy the app, or put it anywhere for other people to download.
- Sell it, rent it, or give it away as your own.
- Take it apart to get at the code, or try to rebuild it.
- Remove the copyright notices, or change the name or icon.
- Reuse its design, its artwork or its text in another app or product.
- Use the Nordbox name or star mark in a way that suggests we made or approved something we did not.
If you want to do any of this for a good reason — writing about the app, teaching with it, building something together — just ask. The answer is often yes.
Apps we build for clients
When we build an app for a business, that business's own brand — its name, its logo, its photographs, its words — stays theirs. It always was. What we bring to the project stays ours, and what belongs to the client stays with the client. Which is which is written into the agreement before the work starts, so nobody has to guess later.
Other people's work inside our apps
Our apps use some open source software written by other people, and we follow the licences that come with it. Where an app uses any, the full list of names and licences is inside the app, usually under Settings, then About. Those parts stay under their own licences, not this one.
Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone, iPad, Mac, macOS, iOS and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. We are not Apple, and Apple does not sponsor our apps.
If you think we used something of yours
Tell us. We take this seriously and we move quickly — we would far rather fix a mistake than argue about one. Write to hello@nordbox.co with the subject Copyright, and include:
- Your name and how to reach you.
- The work you say is yours, and where we can see the original.
- Where it appears in our app or on our website — a screenshot is perfect.
- A line saying you are the owner, or that you speak for the owner.
We reply within 5 working days. If you are right, we remove or replace it, and we tell you when it is done. You can also report an app to Apple directly, through the App Store.
