Klutter

Last updated 3 October 2026 · Nordbox, Beirut, Lebanon

Klutter is an app for iPhone and iPad made by Nordbox, Beirut, Lebanon. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

In short

Klutter does not collect, store or share any of your data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We never receive your photos, documents or anything Klutter learns about them.

Your library stays with you

Everything you import into Klutter (photos, videos, screenshots, screen recordings, receipts and documents) is stored on your device. Everything Klutter works out about those items is also worked out on your device: the text inside images, receipt details such as merchant and total, places, labels and QR codes. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.

Photos and Files

Klutter asks for access to your Photos library so you can choose items to import. If you ask it to, Klutter then removes the originals from Photos; they go to Photos ▸ Recently Deleted for 30 days. Files you import from the Files app are read only when you choose them, and are deleted from Files only if you agree. You can change Photos access at any time in the Settings app.

Location

If you allow it, Klutter uses your current location to show items taken near you, in the Nearby section of Places. Your location is used only on your device while Klutter is open. It is not stored or sent anywhere.

Places for your items come from the location saved in each photo or video by the camera. Klutter turns these into country and town names on your device, using map data built into the app.

Face ID, Touch ID and passcodes

The Private album is protected by Face ID, Touch ID, your device passcode or a separate Klutter passcode. Klutter never sees your face or fingerprint data; Apple handles them. Private items are encrypted on your device. The encryption key is kept in your iCloud Keychain, so you can open your Private album on a new device signed in to the same Apple Account.

iCloud Drive backup

Backup is on unless you turn it off in Settings ▸ Backup. Klutter copies your library to your own iCloud Drive, in a folder called Klutter. The copy includes originals, edits, thumbnails, albums, collections, captions and your Klutter settings, so everything comes back if you reinstall Klutter or move to a new iPhone or iPad. Private items and their details are encrypted before they are copied.

This backup is stored by Apple under your Apple Account, and Apple's privacy policy applies to it. We never have access to it. You can turn backup off, or delete the Klutter folder from iCloud Drive, at any time.

Purchases

Klutter is free for up to 100 items. Klutter Unlimited is sold through the App Store as a yearly subscription or a one-time purchase. Apple processes the payment and tells Klutter only whether Unlimited is active. We do not receive your name, payment details or purchase history. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions.

Google Maps

When you choose to open a place, Klutter opens it in the Google Maps app, or on the Google Maps website if the app isn't installed. Only that place's coordinates are passed to Google, and only when you tap. Google's privacy policy applies there.

Children

Klutter does not collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Changes will never make Klutter collect your data without asking you first.
