Bye AI removes hidden information from your photos, videos and audio files, such as the notes that label them as AI-made. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Bye AI on Mac, iPhone and iPad.
The short version
Bye AI collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It never connects to the internet. Your files are read and cleaned on your own device, and they never leave it.
Your files
- Bye AI only opens the files you choose, whether you drop them in, pick them in the app, or open them from another app.
- Everything happens on your device. Your files are never uploaded, copied to a server or shared with anyone, including us.
- Cleaned copies are saved where you tell Bye AI to save them. On iPhone and iPad, that can be your photo library, the Files app, or wherever you share them.
- While cleaning, Bye AI may place temporary copies of your files in its own private storage on your device. They are removed when they are no longer needed.
Photos access (iPhone and iPad)
- Choosing photos: Bye AI uses Apple's photo picker, so it can only see the photos and videos you select. It cannot browse the rest of your library.
- Saving cleaned copies: if you choose to save to Photos, Bye AI asks permission to add items to your library. It uses this only to save your cleaned copies and to keep them together in an album called "Bye AI". It does not read, change or delete anything else in your library.
You can change these permissions any time in Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Photos on your device.
Folder access (Mac)
On Mac, Bye AI can only open the files and folders you pick, as macOS requires. If you ask it to save into a folder, it remembers that permission on your Mac so it doesn't need to ask again. That permission never leaves your Mac.
What Bye AI stores on your device
Bye AI keeps a small amount of information in its own private storage on your device:
- Your settings, such as where to save cleaned files and how to name them.
- The date of your last free clean, so the app knows when your next one is ready.
- On Mac, the folders you've allowed it to save into.
None of this is sent anywhere. Deleting Bye AI deletes all of it.
Purchases
The optional Lifetime Unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment, and Bye AI never sees your payment details, name or email address. The app only asks Apple whether this device's Apple Account owns the unlock. Apple's use of your information is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect, store or sell:
- names, email addresses, phone numbers or any contact details
- your photos, videos, audio or their contents
- your location
- usage statistics, crash reports or device identifiers
- advertising data
Bye AI contains no third-party code that collects data. If you've turned on sharing app data with developers in your device settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. Apple collects and processes these, and they can't be used to identify you.
Children
Bye AI does not collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. We will never start collecting your information without saying so clearly first.
